A major problem, especially for graphics and creative people in general, is the protection of their works. Logos or copyright notices (especially in the footer of the websites) unfortunately are often ineffective. Today in our rescue comes Myows whose name is a whole program: MY Original Works.
What is it and how it works?
Myows protects our creations and defends ourselves if our rights are violated. The process is very simple. You have to register for free so you will have 500 MB to upload our works. Once you have uploaded your data through a very user-friendly interface based on Ajax in order to make the whole process without refreshing the page, Myows asks us to create a license. We can choose whether to create our own license by including all the necessary information or use a Creative Commons license. At this point it will create a certificate of authenticity and a banner with the ID of our creation that we can display on our site to "warn" users.
How do I protect myself?
Myows is here for this. From the Cases section you can open a dispute against those who violate your copyright. By entering the necessary data you can perform a WHOIS search in the case a website has violated your license and send an email to the person concerned to ask them, if not erase it all, at least to give you the authorship. Hoping that this is enough you can tell Myows that "the case is solved" otherwise you can (unfortunately) appeal to ordinary justice.
Myows is really a good solution and a great help for the protection of our work. With certificates of authenticity you can give an additional guarantee to your customers and protect yourself when your rights are violated. A simple and clear interface will help you during all the process and, when it comes out of beta, many other features will be introduced to make it even more complete and functional. Try it now and let us know your opinions!
